Yoga and Qigong are ancient practices from different traditions but when woven together, create a powerful synergy that supports healing and vitality. We’ll explore how this fusion:

  • Supports aging bodies with low-impact, joint-friendly movement.

  • Invites deep relaxation through breathwork and meditative flow.

  • Cultivates subtle energy awareness to nourish body and mind.

  • Offers inclusive options for those with limited mobility, or chronic conditions.

  • Bridges traditions of Prana and Qi to create a holistic, adaptable practice.

This practice is movement medicine that meets students where they are and gently guides them toward balance, vitality, and joy. Practice will be standing and/or chair based.

Find Your Inner Yes with Heather Till

Gentle Somatic Yoga incorporates therapeutic and somatic movements that are slow, mindful and designed to help amplify your body's ability to self correct and self heal. This is a whole body, heart-based approach that invites a deeper self awareness through movement to release deep held tensions and pain patterns, and cultivate and maintain a sense of inner calm and peace.

This workshop highlights specific Somatic Movement Flows to release tension from the back, hips, neck and shoulders, freeing up greater ease and mobility to create a deep rejuvenation for body and mind that feels like you've just had a massage from the inside-out.

We do this through one of the core tenants of somatic yoga called "pandiculation", isolating specific muscles, mindfully contracting those muscles, and then slowly releasing them until the tone of muscles return back to neutral. It is through the practice of isolating and focusing on particular muscles in a way that provides the brain with information that it can synthesize and use to create a more integrated experience of body and mind.

Finding our "inner yes" is a way of moving that honors where our body is now, and is a way of making decisions that feel light and joyful within our body/mind (soma). As we collectively find our way to our "inner yes", we are able to return to our natural regenerative state of peace and well being.
